"In June 1983 Brisbane's Institute of Modern Art hosted Minimalism x 6. Curated by Malcolm Enright, it included works by Jenny Watson, Peter Tyndall, Imants Tilllers, John Nixon, Robert MacPherson, and Robert Jacks, and advanced a polemic that Minimalism was an unfinished project. While such a proposition is perhaps self-evident today, in the early 1980s, with the artistic landscape dominated by expressive figuration, it was less than certain.
